Our Head Teacher is Lisa MacPhail. Lisa has been Head Teacher at St. Ninian’s RC Primary for 13 years.
Lisa graduated in 1995 from Aberdeen with a Batchelor of Education degree. She began her teaching career at St Pius X Primary. A move oversees to Sydney, Australia followed where Lisa worked in Early Years (3-5).
After her return home to Scotland, Lisa began teaching at St Luke’s and St Matthew’s RC Primary and was there for 9 years undertaking an Early Years secondment with Dundee City Council for a year within this time.
She then moved to St Fergus RC Primary and within a year was successful in gaining the post of Depute Head Teacher. She remained in this role for almost 4 years before applying for and being successful in gaining the Head Teacher post at St. Ninian’s.
Our Depute Head Teacher is Laura Lowden. Born in Belfast, Laura came to Dundee to undertake her teacher training, gaining her degree from Dundee University.
After graduating in 2005, she began working in St. Mary’s RC Primary where she enjoyed 6 happy years both as class teacher and Acting Depute Head Teacher.
When Laura moved to St. Ninian’s in 2012, Lisa knew instantly that Laura was going to go far and indeed Laura was successful in gaining firstly the Principal Teacher role and a couple of years later, the substantive Depute Head role in the school.
